A beloved American lifestyle brand, LA Gear wanted a dance-workout app to bring their retro-inspired shoes and apparel to a new generation.
The LA Gear brand was founded in 1983, and quickly rose to the forefront of 80s and 90s fashion. More than just a line of athletic shoes, LA Gear stood out by tapping athletes and celebrities alike to represent the brand at the height of its enduring popularity, including the likes of Wayne Gretzky, Karl Malone, Belinda Carlisle, Michael Jackson and Paula Abdul.
Throughout the 2000s, LA Gear has remained popular with retro fashion enthusiasts and the general public, who have fond memories of their favorite childhood footwear. Today, fashion athletic shoes remain LA Gear’s focus, with several star-studded revamped lines for men and women released over the past decade — culminating in a spring/ summer collection with retailer Forever 21 in 2018, a partnership with Payless, and a new prototype.
A word from our partner
“I interviewed about 25 companies that built apps, and from day one, ChopDawg.com was my number one choice. Their concepts and ideas are great. Nowadays, we have to think outside the box, and that’s what they think as well. They’re readily available to help in every aspect of the business.”
