Welcome to Pre-K4


Buenas Tardes Parents!

  This has been a fantastic second week of school. 

The students got to know each other better, the school and the environment around them.

This week the students: 

  • were introduced to the library, Dramatic Play, and the Block Center.
  • went to Computer Class for the first time!
  • were able to ride the tricycles.
  • began to write their names on their own.

Thank you for all of the parents who made it to our Back to School Night!

In addition, please do not forget to bring a composition notebook and a plastic folder next week!

Our sharing schedule begins next week .. please have your child bring in an item!

    We had a fantabulous first week of school!

  • We introduced pencils, markers, scissors, and crayons.
  • We took a tour of the school.
  • We went to P.E and Music class. 
  • We got to know each other.
  • We learned our classroom rules and routines.
  • We learned about the behavior chart.
  • We went to our first mass!! 


We would like to give a special shout out to all of our parents who brought in the school supplies.

  In addition, to all the parents who have returned all the papers that needed to be turned in.. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Welcome to our New School Year!




Welcome to our new school year! My name is Mrs. Esmeralda Mejia; I'm your Pre- K4 teacher this year at St. Mary’s School.  I’m very excited to have your child in my class this year. I have 16 years of experience on Early Childhood Education in the DC Public Schools and Public Charter Schools in DC. I have experience teaching Kindergarten, Pre K4, and Pre K3. I have also coached new teachers in their first year as teachers.  I’m looking forward to learning more about your child and what I can do to ensure a successful year.

Ms. Norma Garcia is my teacher assistant this year. Ms. Garcia was born in Washington D.C. from Salvadorian parents. Ms. Garcia has 5 years working in Early Childhood and is excited to teach your children.

Our goal for this school year is to have a fun, faith filled,  and positive learning experience for you and your child.
