What an Awesome Week!

Hello Parents!

We had an AWESOME time at the Walk-A Thon today! Thank you for your contributions toward our new science lab. Your babies should sleep well tonight :-).

Next Friday we will be going on our field trip to Cox Farms. If you are chaperoning, please report to the kindergarten classroom by 8:30am.

Remember, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 10, 2016.

If you have any spare magazines that you would like to donate to our classroom, it would be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy your weekend.

Kindergarten loved the homemade applesauce!

Wednesday

Hello Parents!

Hello to all you wonderful Kindergarten parents!

I want to start off by saying thank you to all who contributed to our Show-n-Taste "Family Treats" activity on Friday and a special thanks for the donation of paper plates from one parent in particular.

This week, we are working on the letter A in Phonics. In reading class we have been learning about the Setting, Characters, Problems, and Solutions in stories. Math is all about Patterns and in Religion class we are learning about how important stories and books (the Bible) are.

Our tasty treat will be homeade applesauce which will be prepared in class with the apples you all sent in Monday. Show and Tell on Friday is items that begin with A.

If you have not already, please send in an inexpensive set of headphone/earbuds in a labelled ziploc bag for computer class by Friday.

Parents, one thing I'm noticing is that many kindergarteners can not yet tie their shoes. This is a skill that was included in the summer packet of required skills for kindergarten. Please work with your child on this fine motor skill.

Finally, some lunch volunteers would be GREATLY appreciated every once in a while. Kindergarten eats lunch at 12:00 in the classroom and Mrs. Wallace and I would absolutely appreciate a break. Wednesdays is a good day to volunteer but any day would be great.

As always, I feel truly blessed to be your child's teacher this year. Feel free to contact me any time with questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Ms. Hawkins
