Welcome to Kindergarten

Hello Parents!

Hello, my wonderful parents! I know it has been some time since I have spoken to you here. Kindergarten has been hard at work since Thanksgiving!

Today we took our very first spelling test. This test gave us the chance to show off how well we are blending our sounds as well as our memory of our sight words. I am proud to say that 99% of the class got 100% on their test today! Parents, going forward, please ensure that you work with your child in becoming familiar and comfortable with sounding out, reading, and writing their spelling words. Also, if I do not have a valid email for you, please send one in as soon as possible so I can register each student in Spelling City.

Today, we also took our chapter test on addition in math class. We worked long and hard on addition because I want every child to have a mastery of this lifelong skill. I'm happy to say that a majority of the class did an excellent job on their test.

All test scores are written on the behavior charts for you to see.

Next week, we will be beginning subtraction and there will be a new set of spelling words coming home on Monday.

Have a great weekend!

Hello Parents!

                                                           ***ATTENTION***

DUE TO TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22 BEING A HALF DAY, THE THANKSGIVING FEAST WILL BE HELD MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21 BEGINNING AT 12 NOON. PLEASE SUBMIT ALL DONATIONS NO LATER THAN THURSDAY NOVEMBER 17

First off I would like to thank you all for your patience and prayers in these past couple weeks. Everything is coming around and we are still on track to our bright horizons! I give a special THANK YOU to Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Simmons, and Mrs. Grier for stepping up and stepping in in my absence.

Today, we had a grand time at Grandparent's Day! Thank you to all that were able to make it; your grandchildren loved sharing their day with you! No worries, if you could not make it, we will have a special event for our kindergarten grandparets in the not so distant future. I will keep you all posted.

On Thursday, the notices about our Thanksgiving Day Feast went out. I ask that ALL students make the $5 donation, unless you do not wish for your child to participate. If that is the case just notate it on the letter I sent home and send it in. If you wish to also donate a food item or decorations, all help is welcome. Again I ask that all monetary donations be submitted no later than Thursday, November 17 so I have time to purchase and prepare all the food.

As always, I thank you for the opportunity to be your child's kindergarten teacher. I appreciate your continued feedback and support. Please feel free to contact me anytime.

Prayer Service Monday

Hello Parents!

I wanted to start by thanking all of you that joined us as chaperones at Cox Farm last week! The children had an absolutely amazing time and sharing it with their parents made it even more memorable for them.

Thank you Mr. Berhe! The children absolutely LOVE the CD!

As you all know, I was out sick last week. I appreciate your prayers and warm wishes. It truly warmed my heart to see how much I was missed on Friday when I got a class group hug in the hallway :-)

On Monday morning, October 24, Kindergarten will be hosting the school prayer service. The service begins at 8:15 in the gym. You are more than welcome to join us.
