Art > Night Sky in the City - Kindergarten (5)
Kindergarten students discussed artwork by American artist, Jackson Pollock. Then they created a starry night sky, using Pollock's painting technique. The following week, we read Ann Jonas' picture book, "Round Trip" to see images of a city in silhouette (the optical illusions are fun, too). Students looked at the architecture of city buildings and noticed the different shapes in the roof lines. Then they made a cut paper collage on their night sky paintings.
