Art > Grade 6 Serpent Mosaics (7)

To the ancient people of Central America, the snake was mysterious, and several of their gods took the form of a snake. One important Aztec god, Quetzalcoatl the feathered serpent, was the patron of priests and knowledge. Inspired by an ancient mosaic of a 2-headed serpent, and by stone carvings of Quetzalcoatl, sixth graders created these bean and bead mosaics of serpents.
